Research Interests:
|
Epigenetics is the study of cellular and physiological phenotypic trait variations that are caused by external or environmental factors that affect gene expression instead of being caused by changes in the DNA sequence. Now, we are interested in the influence of cytokine-stimulated signal pathways in the activity of DNA methyltransferases (DNMTs), and the consequential impact in hematopoiesis, leukemogenesis and development of drug resistance. In addition, we also try to evaluate the function of DNMTs in somatic cancers, such as colorectal cancer.
